    Distributed Sun (DSUN) is a clean energy infrastructure provider founded in 2009 that develops, finances, owns, and operates solar and battery storage projects across the community solar, commercial and industrial (C&I), and utility-scale markets. It is among the largest community solar developers in the country and has developed and delivered systems in 17 states.

    About the Role

    The Senior Director of Project Delivery will lead and report on the development and delivery of current and future truCurrent projects nationwide. Successful candidates will have a strong technical background, budget planning and decision-making experience, and a proven track record of managing portfolios of clean energy projects. Key responsibilities include managing all mid- to late-stage development activities and navigating rigorous diligence and underwriting processes with capital partners to ensure successful long-term operations of truCurrent's development assets for its customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead project delivery efforts, overseeing and reporting on current and future portfolios of clean energy projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion
    • Provide senior technical leadership in deploying energy projects, verifying technical standards and project specifications are met
    • Work with executive leadership, project finance, analysis, policy, customers, strategic partners, and external vendors to ensure seamless project delivery
    • Manage all engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) processes, from the selection of contractors to the supervision of construction activities, including the often dynamic and competing forces of schedule, quality, and cost
    • Contribute to the effective budgeting and planning of financial resources, meeting project goals and timelines while supporting overall company forecasting and sales
    • Define and isolate risk items in any project or portfolio from a variety of stakeholder viewpoints
    • Supervise and engage in power flow analyses, independent engineering reviews, supplier discussions, and energy generation simulations
    • Lead submission of interconnection applications to utilities, independent system operators (ISOs), and/or regional transmission organization

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline; master's degree highly preferred
    • 10+ years of experience in project development with a focus on C&I solar, utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and/or virtual power plants (VPP)
    • A proven track record of managing and supporting multiple diverse projects simultaneously, with the ability to adapt to varying complexities and urgencies
    • A history of administering Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and delivering executed EPC contracts
    • Expertise in energy system design and simulation software (e.g., Helioscope, PVSyst, HOMER)
    • Knowledge of with project management software is preferred
    • Ability to work independently and with a team, often balancing competing priorities with little supervision
    • Experience in building effective teams and driving results with various stakeholder groups
