    Benefits Coordinator


    Role:
    Administers team member benefit programs and assures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. Coordinates annual open enrollment and employee orientations. Works with carriers to resolve team member issues.


    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
    Administers team member benefits through the HRIS System. Enrolls team members with carriers and process life status changes.

    Coordinates the design and communication materials for the open enrollment and New Employee Orientations to enhance team member experience. Makes updates to HRIS system as needed.


    Oversees the leave of absence process, while working closely with the vendor to answer questions related to leave of absence eligibility, assist with determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.

    Regularly audits HRIS data and resolves issues; identifies reporting needs and works with HRIS to build the reports. Involved in data gathering, maintaining reports, and building new reports

    Performs special projects as needed such as completing benefit surveys to assist in benchmarking.

    Assists with benefit plan renewals as needed.

    Other duties as assigned to support the HR Department.


    Performance Measurements: 1.Provide informed, professional, accurate service and support to employees and leadership staff by responding to questions or concerns in timely manner.2.

    Ensure compliance with organizational policies and all relevant state and federal

    regulations.3.Ensure


    benefits are administered with 100% accuracy4.Maintain the human resource database, including benefit information with zero unresolved errors.5.Develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to processes, products, and pricing impacting the HR department by monitoring relevant trends.6.Process all assigned reports in a timely manner with zero unreolved errors.7.Maintain an understanding of applicable regulations including DOL, EEOC, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA and other applicable Human Resources laws and regulations.


    Knowledge and Skills:
    ExperienceOne year to three years of similar or related

    experience.
    Education(1)

    A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship

    program.
    Interpersonal

    SkillsWork involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level.

    Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

    Other SkillsAdvanced skills with MS Office programs

    (Word/Excel/Powerpoint).

    A generalist background in personnel administration, compensation, benefits, training, payroll and employee relations strongly would be preferred.
