    Description


    The Charlotte Division's Director of Construction is a dynamic and experienced leader who oversees all construction activities for our communities.

    This leader will be responsible for developing and managing the construction process from permit through warranty, ensuring quality and timely delivery of homes.


    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Develop and implement construction strategies (process and procedures) to meet project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    Lead and manage a team of construction managers, supervisors, and contractors to ensure efficient project execution.
    Oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all construction activities.
    Manage the permitting process
    Monitor project progress, identify and address issues or delays, and implement corrective actions as needed.
    Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
    Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards throughout the construction process.
    Manage project budgets, track expenses, and report on financial performance to senior management.
    Provide leadership and guidance to the construction team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and safety.
    Manage the warranty process
    EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
    4-year degree in a related field preferred.
    Commercial Construction and/or Facility Maintenance experience preferred.
    10+ years of experience in supervising construction projects
    Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
    Comfortable presenting ideas and solutions to leadership and key business partners
    Strong attention to detail

    Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.

    Ability to hold sub-contractors accountable during all phases of the project.
    Strong organizational skills and time management skills
    Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel is required.
    Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
    Valid Driver's License is required
