    Job DescriptionSalary:

    School Nurse

    In this role, your compassionate nature and excellent communication skills will enable you to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff. You will be responsible for assessing, screening, and managing students' health needs, such as administering medication, performing health assessments, and providing healthcare education. Additionally, you will collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and implement health plans, emergency procedures, and health promotion initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Assess and provide appropriate health care to students with acute and chronic illnesses or injuries.
    • Administer prescribed medication and monitor students for side effects or adverse reactions.
    • Maintain the health room and accurate and up-to-date health records for all students.
    • Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic conditions.
    • Educate students, parents, and staff on health-related topics, such as preventive care, allergy management, nutrition, puberty, and hygiene.
    • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to create a safe and healthy learning environment.
    • Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed and manage communication of incidents to stakeholders.
    • Conduct health screenings, including vision and hearing tests, to identify health issues.
    • Front Desk responsibilities including answering phone calls and signing in visitors.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in nursing, LPN, or related field.
    • Valid nursing license and certification as a School Nurse.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a nurse, preferably in a school setting.
    • Proficient in performing basic nursing procedures, such as administering medication and taking vital signs.
    • Strong knowledge of pediatric health care protocols and guidelines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
    • Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with students and their families.
    • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to school health services.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
    • Knowledge of electronic health records systems.
