    We currently have an opportunity for a Medical Records Clerk for our beautiful Hialeah location.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for initiating and maintaining patient health records, responding to requests for health records, and performing clerical duties.
    • Works closely with healthcare staff to ensure maintenance and accountability of patients health records to support continuity of care.
    • Receive, request, upload, attach and link all health-related documents including medical notes, test results, labs, state forms, patient letters, insurance referrals, insurance letters, pain assessment, hospital records, previous medical history and all other documents. related to the patients health into NextGen (electronic health records) software.
    • Assist callers with medical records needs.
    • Ensure that all information necessary for the healthcare of a patient is uploaded to their chart in a timely manner.
    • Gather patient information by collecting demographic information from a variety of sources.
    • Keeps health care providers informed by communicating availability or unavailability of the record.
    • Maintain continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
    • Maintain patient confidence by keeping patient records information confidential.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Computer/Data Entry experience
    • Minimum of two years experience in a medical office setting.
    • Medical Records /Administrative Assistant experience preferred.
    • Medical terminology knowledge preferred.

    Qualifications/Experience:

    • Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8-hour shift; flexible schedule
