    Allina Health Neuroscience, Spine & Pain Institute is a comprehensive Neuroscience Institute seeking a Neurologist with fellowship training in Dementia, Geriatric Neurology, Cognitive Neurology, or Cognitive-Behavioral Neurology or a Neurologist with an interest in Dementia.

    This position is based at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN in a hospital-based clinic.

    *** Job Description:

    Principle Responsibilities
    Diagnoses, treats and consults patients who have impaired memory function or other neurocognitive disease.

    Examines patients mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.

    Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
    Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
    Provides education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
    Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
    Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
    Participates in neuroscience research activities.
    Charts in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
    Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
    Responsible for providing care in the outpatient setting.

    Quality

    Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows.

    May participate in peer review and quality assurance.

    Job Requirements
    MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required
    BE/BC with ABMS or AOA required
    Fellowship training in Dementia, Geriatric Neurology, Cognitive Neurology, Cognitive-Behavioral Neurology OR strong interest in Dementia required
    Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
    Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
    Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable
