    Job Description:

    The Director of Academic Program Marketing oversees the development of marketing plans, digital advertisements, and recruitment/marketing resources used to promote the academic programs offered at Western Kentucky University. Responsibilities also include managing four marketing specialists, monitoring marketing results through various ad platforms, maintaining consistent branding in all published and printed materials, and researching innovative ways to recruit students.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Develop and coordinate the implementation of strategic marketing plans for academic programs, WKU Online, WKU Graduate School and WKU Continuing Professional Development.
    • Meet with academic departments to encourage and discuss communication plans, new audiences and make recommendations for increased personalized contact between units/programs and students.
    • Assist the WKU Admissions office in using the Slate inquiry forms to capture prospective student data and manage the development of program specific emails as needed.
    • Oversee the development and redesign of academic program websites.
    • Manage behavioral engagement of potential students and distribute information to appropriate academic programs and conduct market research (i.e., focus groups, surveys, interviews, testing) and make recommendations based on findings.
    • Act as liaison between Admissions Office, University Marketing, WKU Online, WKU Graduate School and academic departments across campus.
    • Manage Marketing Specialists
    • Other duties as assigned
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, professional writing, or business-related field (such as business administration, economics, finance, etc.)
    • At least five years of experience in a professional team environment
    • Experience analyzing results and making effective marketing recommendations
    • Knowledge and experience with digital marketing
    • At least two years of experience with data analysis
    • At least two years of experience with website creation within a Content Management System (CMS)
    • Understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and how a CRM can be used to improve communication between prospective students and campus partners.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and database and spreadsheet software (such as Excel and Access)
    • Demonstrated ability to organize/prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and multi-task
    • Demonstrated detail-oriented skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to spend a significant amount of time at a computer
    • Willingness to travel occasionally
    Additional Information:

    Salary Range: $55,300 - $59,000
