Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) II is a professional caregiver who takes care of a group of patients for a designated period, providing care through various methods.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Conducts assessment/data collection focusing on different aspects of patient status.
• Creates a plan of care and implements it effectively.
• Prioritizes patient care based on needs and available resources.
• Identifies and addresses patient/family learning needs.
• Establishes relationships with the health care team, patients, and families.
• Participates in staff development and nursing research activities.
• Uses communication skills effectively and applies safety principles.
• Collaborates with team members and demonstrates flexibility.
• Proficient in documentation and patient care.
• Performs other related duties as necessary.
• Formulates a goal-directed plan of care based on nursing diagnosis.
• Participates in staff development activities.
• Documents patient care accurately.
• May train in specialty areas if no qualified candidate is available.
Basic Qualifications: Experience
Six months recent experience in an acute care setting or completion of orientation in the KP New Graduate/Residency Training Program.

Education

• High School Diploma/GED
• Graduate of a registered nursing program with required clinical experience.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited entry-level MSN program.

License, Certification, Registration

• Registered Nurse License (California)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of hire
• Basic Life Support

Additional Requirements:

• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice
• Commitment to service orientation
• Effective communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Training in specialties may be required.
