Job Description

The company we are working with is a historical legacy, is a rapidly expanding, innovative company known for being the largest Ferry company that provides passenger and freight transportation services to picturesque Mackinac Island.

Located in scenic Northern Michigan, we are a popular tourist and historical destination with visitors from across the globe.

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and detail-oriented Director of Operations to join our team.

This full-time, year-round position involves overseeing the daily operations of the company, including managing docks, vessels, vehicles, properties, managers, and customers.

Essential Duties

Oversee all areas of operations including docks, boats, and operations on the straits of Mackinac, Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, and St.

Ignace
Ensure the safety of the vessel and its passengers, crew, and cargo
Provide leadership and direction to crew members
Maintain superior judgment and performance under pressure
Deliver excellent customer service
Uphold knowledge and adherence to U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations governing the operation of a passenger vessel
Track and provide key operations metrics

Qualifications

Proven experience as Director of Operation or equivalent position
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Highly motivated self-starter
Outstanding communication, both written and verbal
Proficient in Microsoft and business software
A valid Driver's License
Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Willingness to participate and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG
