- Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program
- Current RN license in New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of directly related experience
- CPR/BLS certification for healthcare professionals
- National certification in area of specialty (preferred)
- Assign nursing personnel and staff to specific patients based on patient needs
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families
- Develop an efficient organizational structure, supervise employees and select, train, and counsel staff
- Act as a liaison between physicians, staff, patients, families, and other departments to promote and facilitate communication, problem solving, and decision-making
- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients, implement and document individualized care plans, and assist with special tests and procedures
- Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information, administer medication, and monitor clinical findings
- Encourage patient participation in their own care and promote patient safety
