    Location: Irvine, CA

    Reporting To: Financial Reporting Manager

    Status: Exempt, Full-Time

    Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 DOE

    EMPLOYEE OWNER POSITION PURPOSE:

    As our Financial Reporting Supervisor, you are charged with a critical task – managing a team of Senior and Staff Accountants. In this capacity you will schedule workflow, train, guide, and motivate your team, and lead by example. In addition to completing thorough financial reviews, you will also take point on complex client financials.     JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor the monthly financial statement schedule and modify assignments as needed to meet team and client requirements
    • Monitor and analyze department workflow to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
    • Assist in implementation of new software and/or procedures to enhance department workflow
    • Partner with the Financial Reporting Manager to determine department staffing needs; this includes participating in candidate phone and in-person interviews as requested
    • Partner with the Financial Reporting Manager to support each accounting teammate in establishing goals and objectives for each year; monitor and advise on progress
    • Partner with the Financial Reporting Manager to manage personnel issues relating to staff performance, cultural alignment, and related needs
    • Collaborate with other divisions and departments Trust-wide to support overall department goals and objectives (specifically regarding financial reporting)
    • Provide training on accounting software, Excel, accounting principles, tips and tricks – anything and everything to support and help your team thrive
    • Review your team's output for compliance with company standards and best practices
    • Produce monthly financial statements and internal/external reports for a small portfolio of key VIP clients as needed/requested
    • Demonstrate a solid understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties required to drive consistent implementation of best practices
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement
    • Maintain current industry knowledge by reading professional publications and exploring on-the-job education opportunities
    • Prioritize and juggle multiple projects at once, particularly during month and year-end
    • Other duties and special projects as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree and/or the equivalent of 5+ years of Accounting experience
    • Advanced and/or specialty degrees/certifications plus leadership experience are a big plus
    • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced deadline environment while managing multiple-tasks
    • Background partnering with leaders to make sound recommendations based on business need
    • Strong MS Office skills (i.e. Excel), paired with comfort quickly mastering new software programs
    • Ability to maintain confidence, confidentially, and composure during sometimes difficult or complex situations
    • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ultimate professionalism, interpersonal, customer service, and team work skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate and partner with internal and external clients of all levels

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Use standard office equipment, including: computer, phone, copier/scanner, etc.
    • Be stationary for periods of time
    • Relocate up to (25) pounds

    SCHEDULE & TRAVEL:

    • Monday-Friday from approx. 8:00 am-5:00 pm
    • This position may require occasional long hours to meet business needs
