    We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Senior Analyst with expertise in SQL, Tableau, and Power BI to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in analyzing complex datasets, generating actionable insights, and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. As a Principal Senior Analyst, you will lead efforts to extract, transform, and analyze data using SQL, develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and Power BI, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful insights and solutions.

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Modeling:
  • Utilize advanced SQL techniques to query and manipulate large datasets from multiple sources
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, and aggregation to prepare data for analysis
  • Develop and maintain complex data models to support analytical reporting and decision-making
  • Be the go-to source for SQL coding and data wrangling, including mentoring and training analysts and senior analysts in SQL
  • Dashboard Development:
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and Power BI
  • Create intuitive and insightful reports to communicate key metrics and trends to stakeholders
  • Implement best practices for dashboard design, layout, and usability to enhance user experience
  • Data Visualization and Interpretation:
  • Interpret data trends, patterns, and anomalies to identify actionable insights and opportunities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective visualizations
  • Provide data-driven recommendations and solutions to drive business growth and efficiency
  • Performance Optimization:
  • Optimize SQL queries, data pipelines, and dashboard performance to ensure efficient data processing and visualization
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks and data quality issues to improve overall system performance
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and decision-makers, to understand business requirements and deliver insights-driven solutions
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Continuous Learning and Development:
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analysis, visualization, and business intelligence
  • Actively participate in training, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance skills and expertise

    Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field
  • Solid expertise in SQL with experience writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions
  • Proficiency in Tableau and Power BI with experience developing interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations
  • Proven excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Proven solid communication and collaboration abilities with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

    • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications in SQL, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R
  • Experience in Snowflake
  • Experience in Azure
  • Experience in Databricks
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes

    California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
