Description
An Academic Health System in Texas are recruiting for board certified MD or DOapplicants for full time Faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate
Professor level in a department that enjoys strong institutional support.
These departmental faculty positions are designed to address the needs of the
expanding medical education programs.
The School of Medicine has an innovative curriculum for medical students. The
third year clerkship in family medicine currently is 6 weeks in length,
combined with a 15 week-long longitudinal selective experience of one half-day
per week. There is currently an 8-8-8 ACGME-accredited family medicine
residency program. Both residents and faculty see patients in a modern Family
Medicine Center with a state of the art electronic medical record system.
There is also a strong ACGME-accredited Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.
The department also enjoys a successful clinical research division with the
focus on cancer prevention and population health.
The department has an active inpatient service and also admits patients to the
local Children's Hospital. Duties will include direct patient care, primarily
at the main clinic site, numerous opportunities to supervise and teach family
medicine residents in the outpatient and inpatient settings, and teach medical
students across all four years of the medical school curriculum. Scholarly
activity is also expected of all faculty.
