    Job DescriptionClassroom Speech Language Pathologist

    Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Hope Learning Academy in Springfield, IL, the Speech & Language Pathologist provides and oversees speech/language therapy treatments in a variety of environments to assist clients to attain, improve, or maintain their maximum level of functional movement.

    SLP Essential Duties:

    • Assess individuals' communication skills and implement speech and language treatment based on established goals, in individual or group settings.
    • Serve, communicate, and consult as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
    • Maintain detailed records and compile written progress reports and treatment plans as needed.
    • Evaluate need and type of augmentative communication devices and provide guidance and training to parents/guardians, teachers, and/or caretakers on the use of needed devices.
    • Participate in ongoing treatment meetings, as well as staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Master's degree from approved school of hearing and speech-language pathology.
    • Illinois license in audiology or speech-language pathology.
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligible.
    • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software applications.
