    LOCATION OF POSITION
    MDH, Deer's Head Hospital Center, Salisbury, MD\r

    POSITION DUTIES
    The main purpose of this position at Deer's Head Hospital Center is to provide direct medical care to patients/residents. This position relates to the mission of the agency by providing for the health care needs of the chronically ill and disabled citizens who are not otherwise serviced in the private sector.\r\r\rPer the Amended Directive and Order Regarding Vaccination (MDH # issued by the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health, effective April 18, 2023, staff in all hospitals and residential facilities operated by the Maryland Department of Health or any local health department are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

    Staff includes, but is not limited to, regular and contractual employees, contractual staff, volunteers, and other state employees performing any duties at the facility.

    An individual may request an accommodation by providing appropriate and sufficient documentation for bona fide medical or religious reasons.\r

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:
    A Doctoratedegree in medicine from an accredited college or university

    \rExperience:

    Four years of experience in the practice of medicine

    \rNotes:

    \r1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree in public health from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.\r2. Candidates may substitute successful completion of internships and residencies in medicine as qualifying medical experience.\r3.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Medical Corpsman andPhysicians classifications or Nursing or Physician and Medical Services and Special Corpsman Officer specialty codes in the medicine field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.\r
    LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

    Applicants for this classification must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law.

    A copy of the current license must be attached to the application.\r

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

    Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations , Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
