- Work with Nurse Practitioners to schedule visits to patient homes or healthcare facilities.
- Conduct initial patient assessments, including wound evaluation, measurement, and documentation.
- Assist in wound dressing changes, wound debridement, and other wound care procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
- Educate patients and their families on proper wound care techniques, preventive measures, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including wound assessment findings, treatment provided, and patient progress.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Some travel will be required but expenses and transportation will be provided.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, with specific experience in wound care highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of wound care principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Proficiency in wound assessment, measurement, and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
