    Description
    Goodwill Industries of the Columbia is seeking an Employment Consultant to assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining community employment. Position is responsible for business engagement activities with local employers, identifying position openings, and matching the most appropriate individual to the open job vacancy; as well as, providing hands-on support to individuals so that they can maintain successful, long-term employment.

    What will you do in this job?
    • Prepare individuals with disabilities for successful job search through resume building, completion of job applications, employer visits, mock interviewing, etc.
    • Create employment partnerships in the business community through cold-calling and personal relationship development.
    • Document work with individuals served and community employers.
    • Support individuals in new jobs through job coaching and retention services.
    • Work closely with the Disability Services team to create and execute individualized employment plans, and to ensure placement plans, goals, and targets are being met.
    • Engaging with community and systems to create innovative partnerships.
    Compensation and Benefits

    Starting rate: $23.00 per hour followed by eligibility for annual performance-based increases with maximum pay of $26.77 per hour. Highest pay as a result of ongoing good performance and years of service.

    • Twenty-four hours of floating holiday annually. Prorated based upon hire date in the first calendar year of employment.

    • If 18 years or older, eligibility to participate in a Retirement Savings Plan (401k or Roth IRA) at the entry dates (January 1st or July 1st). Enrollment eligibility following one year of service and have worked 1,000 hours in the first year or any calendar year thereafter, or hours each year for three consecutive years.
