    This position is located in the Communications Campaigns Service (CCS) of the Campaigns and Country Operations Division (CCOD) in DGC.

    The Programme Assistant will report to the Digital Campaigns Officer, working in close coordination with the social media section, the digital media unit and the thematic campaign sections in CCS/CCOD and liaising closely with the Evaluation and Communications Research Unit (ECRU).

    Responsibilities


    • Actively monitors and supports analysis of key performance indicators (social media, campaign websites, and media) for campaigns and major events/conferences using industry standard tools (e.g. Google Analytics, native social analytics dashboards (Twitter X, Instagram, Facebook, etc), Talkwalker).
    • Assists in establishing KPIs and, where required, UTM parameters and tracking URLs for major campaigns and social media platforms in coordination with Social Media Section, Digital Unit, relevant Campaign Units and ECRU.
    • Assists in preparing quarterly and yearly metrics and insights reports for global campaigns and events led by the Communications Campaigns Service, including contextual analysis to identify trends and enhance deeper understanding of audience engagement and sentiment.
    • Monitors social media analytics for regular reporting and ad hoc requests in close liaison with Social Media Section and Evaluation and Communications Research Unit (ECRU).
    • Provides assistance in support of coordination, planning and implementation of strategic communications programmes and processes for CCS/CCOD;. monitors status of relevant programme/project proposals; takes necessary action to ensure project documents are completed and submitted to relevant parties for approval.
    • Drafts programme/project summaries and talking points on various strategic communications issues. Coordinates the review and clearance process of summaries and talking points, and coordinates on the finalization as needed.
    • Provides assistance on CCS campaigns activities, such as drafting meeting notes, correspondence and communications as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Work Experience

    Seven years of progressive experience in communications, with a focus on digital or related area are required.

    Experience in monitoring, analyzing and reporting on web, social media, media analytics and metrics tools (social media dashboards such as Twitter X, IG, Facebook and Google analytics) is required.

    Experience working in communications on Public Information issues for the United Nations or an international organization is desirable.

    Languages

    English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English and is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
