General Summary:
The Director of Transportation Excellence is responsible for developing initiatives and/or coordinating the operations team as it relates to transportation, routing, delivery, and all metrics.
It will be expected that this individual will be the Subject Matter Expert when it comes to various transportation tools to include Geotab/Green Mile and Roadnet.
This individual will report directly to the Vice President of Operations Excellence and will play a key role in driving and implementing modern technologies and procedures to the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports project-based work, using routing systems and technologies to model and analyze outcomes.
Prepares and helps to design KPI tracking metrics and materials. Tasked with extracting, formatting, and presenting data to individual business units.
Partners cross functionally to execute modeling and scenario-based work for individual business units.
Help to determine and establish proper equipment utilization to ensure safety and customer experience.
Tasked with creating improvement plans around core KPI metrics to include Cases Per Mile, Cases Per Truck, Unload Cases Per Man Hour etc.....
Initiate processes to maintain optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs.Take and active role in promoting teamwork, ownership, premier customer service and quality within the organization.
Provide guidance to the field on best practices and support associates with tools and coaching as needed.
Provide leadership with reports and evaluations of division performance and adherence to the initiatives and best practices.
Help to foster an environment where safety is the top priority for our associates and our customers.
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Analytics or related.
5+ years' experience in a transportation/logistics, operations excellence, and/or routing environment.
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Proficient in routing software
Strong Analytical Skills
Must be decisive and take initiative in problem solving.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Works well without supervision.
Familiar with reading, understanding, and interpreting routing requirements.
Up to 50% travel required.
