As a Dermatology Medical Assistant in Valparaiso, you will be an essential part of our clinical team, where you will contribute to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and comprehensive medical histories.
- Assist physicians during procedures and examinations, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and manage specimen collection and preparation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Coordinate scheduling of patient appointments and facilitate effective office communication.
- Educate patients about their treatment plans, medications, and effective skincare practices.
- Ensure that examination rooms are clean, organized, and adequately stocked with medical supplies.
- A high school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical environment is valuable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to dermatology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, especially in a busy clinic setting.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and standard office software applications is advantageous.
