    Description

    ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Utility Mechanic to add to their in Wallops Flight Facility in VA.


    This role is part of the IAM union and supports the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Repair, Operations, Maintenance and Engineering (ROME) contract.


    This program supports the facilities requirements at both sites as well as possible needs at GSFC remote sites and NASA Headquarters.

    Goddard Space Flight Center has two main campuses, Greenbelt, MD, and Wallops Flight Facility on Virginia's Eastern Shore.

    The Greenbelt campus has 1,270 acres and includes 37 primary numbered buildings and numerous smaller ones, totaling approximately 3.5 million gross sq.

    ft. These include mission operations spaces, data centers, integration and test facilities, cleanrooms, laboratories, and other functions.

    WFF is situated on 6,187 acres and includes a total of 250 buildings, of which 117 are dedicated to the mission of low‐cost NASA and commercial launches and runway airfield operations.

    WFF also houses the U.S. Navy as a tenant, and those facility needs are included under the ROME contract.

    Duties:

    Installs, repairs, and replaces piping and fittings for oil, natural gas, water, steam, compressed air, heating and plumbing lines, and systems for equipment such as gas and steam turbines, air and natural gas compressors, pumps, chillers and boilers.


    • HS Diploma
    • Qualified journeyman in accordance with union rules
    • Ability to pass a government sponsored background check for access to the work site.
