    Job Description:
    The Associate/Sr.

    Associate Director, Athletics Major Giving reports to the Director of Major & Leadership Giving/Assistant Athletics Director and is responsible for the qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individuals who are capable of making gifts of $250K to $4.9M.

    The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of approximately prospects that are inclined to support Boston College Athletics and will be expected to meet specific visit and solicitation goals.

    Athletics Major Giving fundraisers are responsible for conducting 132 meetings a year and raising $1.2M per year.


    To be successful in meeting these goals, the fundraiser is expected to devise cultivation strategies which advance relationships and lead to the solicitation of prospects.

    The fundraiser will communicate effectively and persuasively in letters, proposals and in person, and will work collaboratively with development colleagues, coaches and Athletic Department leadership to maximize fundraising productivity.

    Additionally, the fundraiser will serve as a liaison and content expert for non-athletics fundraising staff and develop productive working relationships with key volunteers.

    Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges:

    First LevelAssociate Director:
    $99,450 - $124,300

    Second LevelAssociate Director:
    $112,450 - $140,600

    Senior AssociateDirector:
    $124,150 - $155,200

    Requirements


    This position requires aBachelor's degree, and for the first level Associate Director, 1-3years directly related experience successfully closing gifts of $50Kor more;for the second level Associate Director, 3-5 years directly related fundraising experience successfully closing gifts of $100K or more; for the Senior Associate Director, 5-7years directly related fundraising experience successfully closing gifts of$250K or more, all levels preferably performed in a complex higher education environment.

    Frequent travel, evening, and weekend work are required tosuccessfully perform the duties of this position.

    Additionally, attendance at all home footballgames (7) and most basketball and hockey (30+) games is necessary, as isattendance at periodic special events.

    A valid driver's license is required. A demonstrated ability to speak and writepersuasively about higher education and the Jesuit tradition is expected. Proficiency with technology and relevantsoftware applications, such as Google mail (Gmail), MS Word, MS Excel, andPowerPoint is also expected.
