    Job Title: Silicon Photonics Technical Lead

    Location: Austin, TX Type: Full Time

    About Neurophos: Neurophos has dedicated years to refining a technology platform with the potential to significantly enhance performance metrics in neural network computing. Leveraging advancements in metamaterials, Neurophos is pioneering spatial light modulators of unprecedented speed and efficiency. By combining these innovations with conventional optoelectronics, Neurophos has developed an optical computer that surpasses current capabilities and future projections.

    As Neurophos secures its first funding round, the company is expanding its team to advance its Optical Computing Platform.

    Position Overview: We are in search of a skilled Silicon Photonics Technical Lead to drive the design, optimization, and architecture of silicon photonic chips for the Neurophos hardware platform. The ideal candidate will be involved in all stages of development, from conception to testing, and must collaborate with various engineering teams for seamless integration and liaise with fabrication partners to ensure manufacturability.

    Requirements include an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field, along with 5 years of industrial experience in silicon photonic design and optimization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Silicon Photonic Design: Design and layout silicon photonic components using industry-standard tools.
    • Simulation and Optimization: Analyze device performance through comprehensive simulations.
    • Characterization and Testing: Develop testing protocols and characterize photonic devices.
    • High-Level Hardware Design: Collaborate on high-level hardware design to meet project requirements.
    • Fabrication Development: Ensure successful manufacturability with fabrication partners.
    • Research and Development: Stay updated on the latest advancements in silicon photonics and contribute to ongoing research efforts.

    Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Extensive experience in silicon photonics from conception to packaging.
    • Proficient in industry-standard design tools and software development.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
