    Job DescriptionMedical Assistant IIZip Code: Houston, TX 77030 | Location: Medical CenterEmployment Type: Temp-to-hire | Workplace Type: On-siteHealthcare Specialty: Physical Medicine and Rehab | Salary: $18 - $22 an hourOne of the premier Physical Medicine and Rehab clinics in the Houston Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant II who will perform clerical and administrative responsibilities such as filing and scanning patient medical records, obtaining lab reports, hospital notes, and referral information.     • Perform routine care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, venipuncture (blood draws), collecting specimens, and wound care.
    • Assist with treatment room examination and patient procedures.
    • Collect patient history, perform medication reconciliation, and enter information in the electronic medical record.
    • Review patients' medications list and identify any medications that require attention before the procedure.
    • Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures for patients.
    Medical Assistant II's Qualifications
    • Certification from an Accredited Medical Assistant Program is required.
    • Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
    • One (1) year of experience in a specialty clinic is highly preferred.
    • Experience with Epic EMR Program preferred.
    • COVID-19 Vaccination is required.
