    JOB TITLE: Therapist

    REPORTS TO: Behavioral Health Program Manager

    STATUS: Regular Full-Time, Exempt

    STARTING COMPENSATION: Starting compensation range: $50,000-$56,000. Compensation rate dependent upon licensure level and experience.

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The therapist is skilled at clinical interventions designed to help disenfranchised populations reach their treatment goals and improve well-being. The therapist works as part of an integrated treatment team, collaborating with medical clinic staff and case managers. The therapist is passionate about providing holistic, potentially long-term therapy for clients with mental health and substance use disorders and understands the importance of a strong therapeutic alliance, healthy boundaries, and consistent self-care.

    Work involves providing direct clinical interventions designed to help disenfranchised populations reach their treatment goals. The duties and responsibilities are performed in a combination of in office and remote work settings.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
    This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.
    1. Assist in performing regular internal chart reviews.
    2. Complete biopsychosocial diagnostic intake assessments with new clients to fully assess clients' mental health needs.
    3. Collaborate with clients to develop individual treatment plans and communicate diagnoses and therapeutic process to clients.
    4. Provide individual therapy to a caseload of 20-25 clients per week.
    5. Facilitate group therapy.
    6. Provide crisis support for Choice Health Network clients including supporting staff members working with clients in crisis.
    7. Assess client levels of care and provide case management around referrals, as needed.
    8. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and case managers to provide integrated care for all mental health clients.
    9. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
    10. Collect and report outcome data to gauge client progress and improved clinical skills.
    11. Assume other responsibilities as assigned.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

    • Excellent communication skills, particularly listening, mediation, and writing skills.

    • Possess strong organizational skills with ability to meet a demanding workload.

    • Detail oriented to complete requirements of files and contract compliance.

    • Creative thinker/adaptive personality.

    • Concentrated record keeping, budgeting, and mathematical skills; ability to produce required reports to federal, state. and local government agencies and funding sources.

    • Fluency in the English language is required. Spanish speaking ability is an added asset, but is not required.

    • Experience with computer and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

    • Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of population served.

    • A commitment to empowering others to solve their own problems.

    • A conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change.

    • The ability to establish and set appropriate limits with persons served to help them gain skills and confidence.

    • The ability to work collaboratively with other personnel and/or service providers or professionals.

    • The capacity to maintain a role to empower clients and to intervene appropriately to meet service goals.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • People with lived experience of substance use, incarceration, homelessness, and sex work; people of color; members of the LGBTQIA+ community; and, people living with HIV and/or hepatitis C are encouraged to apply.

    • Minimum Education Requirements: Masters degree in social work, psychology or counseling field. Must be licensed or working toward licensure in Tennessee.
