    KAWERAK POSITION DESCRIPTION

    DIVISION: Administration

    DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

    JOB TITLE: Human Resources Coordinator

    LOCATION: Nome

    POSITION STATUS: Regular, Full-Time

    EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt

    PAY SCALE GRADE:

    REPORTS TO: Employee Benefits Manager

    The Human Resources Coordinator aids with and facilitates human resources processes. The Human Resources Coordinator will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organizations human resources department.

    BRIEF SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Greet Human Resources visitors and direct as needed.
    2. Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions; refers more complex questions to appropriate HR staff.
    3. Prepares new employee files.
    4. Maintain employee identification card software and create employee identification cards.
    5. Completes I-9 forms, verifies I-9 documentation, and maintains I-9 files.
    6. Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
    7. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
    8. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
    9. Assist candidates interested in vacant positions.
    10. Ensure all applications are complete and distributed appropriately.
    11. Provides clerical support to the HR department.
    12. Purchase office supplies for HR staff.
    13. Conducts or assists with new hire orientation and maintains new hire binders.
    14. Assists with planning and execution of events.
    15. Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. AA degree in Business Administration or related field. Comparable work experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
    2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    3. Excellent interpersonal skills.
    4. Computer and office skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Windows and Internet skills required.
    5. Ability to work effectively with a variety of people from various backgrounds.
    6. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
    7. Familiarity with employment laws and regulations preferred.
    8. Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision.
    9. This position is expected to occasionally attend evening meetings.

    SLOTTING:

    11: AA or 2 years experience

    12: AA +2 years experience or 4 years experience

    13: AA +4 years experience or 6 years experience
