    Description

    This position will be responsible for growing Tower Sealant's commercial product lines within the construction building supply channel. The individual will develop and execute the sales, marketing, customer, and product development strategy for this new segment of Tower's business. The Commercial Products Sales Director will collaborate with the Paint Channel Sales Directors, Logistics Director, VP of Chemical Technology, and VP of Sales and Marketing when applicable to collect and analyze data, implement marketing campaigns, and conduct field tactics.

    The Commercial Products Sales Director will hire and manage manufacturers' rep teams nationally and identify objectives, strategies, and action KPIs for those agencies to ensure sales goals and objectives are met.

    This position will report to the Senior Vice President.

    CORE FUNCTIONS:

    • Identify key distributors and the associated product sell-through strategy.
    • Work with customers to understand their needs and how to incorporate them into our programs.
    • Communicate the value proposition of Tower products to the sales team and develop sales tools that support the selling process of commercial products.
    • Collaborate with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing to establish new marketing programs, collateral, and products.

    DETAILS OF FUNCTION:

    • Market intelligence – be the expert on your category, customers, how they buy, and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and the Tower advantages.
    • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the distribution network.
    • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Tower's products in the market.
    • Sales enablement: Communicate the products' value proposition to the sales team and develop sales tools that support the selling process.
    • Product launch – organize new product releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
    • Demand generation – develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for your products.
    • Collaborates to develop improvement in market share of all product lines
    • Support for manufacturer's rep agencies
      • Provide on-site training product knowledge classes to educate customer store associates, sales teams, and end-users on all aspects of commercial sealants, programs, and products.
      • Educates manufacturer's rep team and customer service teams by establishing education updates for new and existing products, promotional activities, improved presentation strategies, and competitive offsets
    • Organize manufacturer's rep schedules and participate in company and customer trade shows.

    TRAVEL:

    • As high as 75%
    • Must have or obtain a valid passport

    TERRITORY/REGION: US

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    A university degree in marketing or business studies is preferred, or a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in the roofing, lumber, or commercial waterproofing sector or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience. Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information. Proven ability to motivate and lead the sales team. Experience in the development of marketing and sales strategies. Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to read and interpret financial statements and data, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite are required.

    This role is for a proactive self-starter. The candidate must possess excellent creative, analytical, and computer skills. The candidate must also demonstrate strong communication skills and organizational traits. The ability to create and execute a sales strategy is key.
