    JOB SUMMARY

    Starting salary: $33,758/yr - $53,996/yr Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, and/or experience.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Compiles and maintains records concerning quantity, type, and value of agency material, equipment, and supplies. Conducts on-site audits and coordinates disposal of fixed assets.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • At least 18 years of age.
    • U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card.
    • Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated.
    • No illegal drug usage within the past year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
    • Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
    • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) AND three (3) years' related experience in handling or auditing inventory or materials or related experience. OR Associates degree (A.A. or A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school AND one (1) year experience in handling or auditing inventory or materials or related experience.
    • Must have valid Florida driver's license. Must attend and successfully complete the agency sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training if assignment includes driving agency vehicle. Use of agency vehicle would require appropriate driving history and passing agency biennial driver's physical exam.
    • Must successfully complete Forklift Certification provided through the agency within six (6) months of employment.
    • Ability to maintain agency property records including location, inventory assignment, status and value of fixed assets. Processes transfers of fixed assets.
    • Ability to perform on-site inventory of fixed assets throughout agency and with other agencies as needed (e.g., Florida Department of Law Enforcement).
    • Ability to conduct audits on-site, by correspondence, or by summoning individuals to supply. Coordinates or schedules on-site audits or appointments for audits of various assets as needed. Prepares detailed reports on audit results and/or asset utilization.
    • Ability to work with agency personnel to locate missing items and resolve discrepancies.
    • Ability to compare clerical inventory computations to the physical count of stock; adjusts errors in computations or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
    • Ability to review and process documentation of incoming shipments for fixed assets.
    • Ability to checks and tags equipment.
    • Ability to compare inventories to County, Radio Shop, or Agency records or computes figures from records to obtain current inventory. Reconciles and balances agency equipment fund expenditures with Comptroller's Office.
    • Ability to enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in written or electronic form.
    • Ability to assist supply clerks as needed in counting material, equipment, supplies, and/or weapons in stock and posting totals to inventory records.
    • Ability to provide and gather information to and from supervisors, co-workers, and/or others (e.g., the public, government, and other external sources). This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, by telephone or by e-mail.
    • Ability to perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to follow statutory and safety guidelines.
    • Must have basic understanding of statutes specific to tangible personal property. A
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Must have good customer service skills and the ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with vendors, delivery persons, the general public, and agency personnel.
    • Must have basic computer skills to include word processing and spreadsheet applications.
    • Ability to learn specialized department software and its applications.

    The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Work is performed in a standard office setting, warehouse setting, or in the outdoors. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
