- Work according to all Safety, GMP and BRC Policies
- Correctly use Lockout / Tagout machines when required. Yearly re-certification in LOTO.
- Use all required PPE continuously while on the production floor
- Operates a forklift truck in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to certification protocol.
- Reports any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Adheres to safety policy.
- Identify non-conforming material and follow procedures for reporting it
- Visually observe material for contamination or other defects
- Ensure the material is properly labeled and the comments are recorded.
- Ensure consumption in the system to affect inventories properly.
- Pull regrind samples to assist with onsite testing by Quality.
- Encourage Material Handlers to reduce Virgin consumption.
- Encourage Material Handlers to increase Regrind consumption.
- Reinforce Material Handlers to properly scan resin tickets to the right machine.
- Reinforce Material Handlers to fix/replace broken or old piping.
- Reinforce Material Handlers to always use Liners, Covers, and scanned weight tickets, when creating new gaylords from the Regrind Bin.
- Teach calibration sequence of all blenders.
- Teach Material Handlers when to increase/decrease temperature on the Dryer and Crystallizer.
- Work alongside Material Handler PM to maintain and optimize our MH systems.
- Work directly with the Materials Supervisor to help increase cost savings and efficiency of the Materials department.
- Have a flexible schedule to come train or work on Day shift or Night shift.
- Conduct Material Handling Tier Meetings
- Reinforce Material Handlers to monitor Silo levels by using the silo station board and visually checking if needed.
- Troubleshoot material flow problems & correct as needed
- Blend virgin material when needed.
- Install/replace piping for material flow as needed.
- Receive Bulk Resin Trucks and Railcars.
- Verify that material is correct and hook and authorize the unloading of material to the correct silos.
- Verify Materials coming in rail cars are correct connect and unload to proper silos.
- Pull samples and deliver them to the designated storage spot for review by the proper QA official.
- Maintain filters on silos and railcar unloading equipment.
- Maintain Logs of filter on QAF 13.9.
- Maintain Transfers in SAP.
- Produce daily Silo and Railyard status reports.
- Maintain accurate labeling of all silos.
- Blend C-pet and Poly additive as needed to Production schedule, maintaining ample stock quantity.
- Reinforce best practices for Material Handlers in regard to laminate film
- Reinforce best practices for Material Handlers in regard to material changeovers
- Assist in cleaning the Die, Blender, UDC 50's, Feed Throat and magnets when available.
- Assist with cleaning the Grinder when changing material types.
- Ensure good housekeeping practices are followed in the Material Handling areas
- SAP use is to be continuous throughout the day.
- Assist maintenance on projects.
- Wash & clean silos as needed.

Sabert is looking for a Material Handler Lead to join the Night shift team
JOB SUMMARY
Arrive on time daily; Lead the Material Handlers on shift; Unload railcars on night shift; perform job effectively and efficiently; meet production volume expectations; perform all aspects of job safely; exhibit teamwork; be accountable for monitoring and correcting quality issues as they occur; learn the job requirements based on company expectations; follow company policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
Safety
All Sabert employees have the duty of taking immediate action or reporting any activity which may influence potential food safety or quality issues to our products.
Position is often required to go into the plant for various reasons. All Food Safety GMP requirements will be followed.
See GMP guidelines issued during training/orientation and annual retraining for reference.
Position requires the implementation of specific job related functions as they pertain to our BRC guidelines. These are covered in the BRC training and revisited annually for refresh.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understand the entire Material Conveyance process in depth.
Identify and understand the use of all the equipment and its parts.
Identify and understand the functions of the control panels.
Identify problems with the process and be able to troubleshoot them.
Mechanical skill knowledge.
Analytical / problem solving skills.
Perform the proper uses of hand tools.
Good organizational skills.
Good leadership and team skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work from heights.
Assist Material Handlers with issues they cannot figure out while teaching them in the process.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Fix things related to material handling that are not Breakdowns primary tasks.
Anything mechanical or Pneumatic that is not supplied a electrical signal.
Replace anything reported by material handlers that need to be replaced; filter bags, cannister windows, leaking dryers.
Wash out silos.
Assist in dryer cleanouts.
Physical Characteristics
Frequent handling of 1500 lbs +/- of Material in Gaylord's
Mental alertness and good vision
Standing on feet up to 12 hours a day
Use of hands to write for labeling, counting, and reporting.
Withstand extreme heat temperatures occasionally.
Work in a continuous production environment
Climbing on top of machines and silos for cleaning or troubleshooting
Educational or Certification Requirements
High School Diploma, GED, or the equivalent
Other Requirements
Furnish tools for personal use on the production floor.
