    Surgical Technologist at UCHealth

    A Surgical Technologist at UCHealth assists in the performance of surgical procedures by preparing the operating suite, ensuring the equipment is in good order, and facilitating the smooth operation of surgeries. This role requires critical thinking and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
    • Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
    • Passes instruments to physician during surgery.
    • Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
    • Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.

    Requirements:

    • High School diploma or GED or Military trained.
    • State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration.
    • 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.
    • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
