    The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineers to join the Mission Systems Software Engineering team located in North Charleston, South Carolina or Berkeley, Missouri. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) business organization.

    In this position, you will collaborate with other world-class scientists, researchers, and engineers innovating on a range of technologies including; advanced training, simulation, production analytics, autonomy, electro-optical/infrared sensing, cybersecurity, disruptive computing, networks, high-fidelity digital twin and virtualization.

    As part of Boeing Research & Technology's (BR&T) Mission Systems Software Engineering, our software engineers use their expertise to create next-generation software capabilities for amazing aerospace, satellite, and autonomy platforms. Our products help solve Boeing's most challenging problems across Commercial Airplanes, Defense Space & Security, and Global Services businesses.

    This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

    Position Responsibilities:
    • Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
    • Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
    • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
    • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities
    • Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics
    • Plans, executes, and documents software research and development projects
    • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations
    • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
    • Works under minimal direction

    Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

    This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

    Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
    • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
    • 7+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system
    • 3+ years experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
    • 3+ years experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, and MATLAB
    • 3+ years of experience in a team or project leadership
    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
    • Active Top Security/SCI with PolyClearance
    • 9+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system
    • Experience using Gitlab
    • 3+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies
    • Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain (Gitlab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc)
    Typical Education/Experience:

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

    Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

    Summary pay range for Experienced: $122, $165,600.00
