    Valdes is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Construction Engineer to work on roadway and bridge construction projects in the Chicago, IL area.

    Responsibilities


    Provides the opportunity to support CEI efforts for exciting, challenging, and high-profile transportation projects for IDOT, Illinois Tollway, counties, and other local Municipalities.

    Provides training, guidance, and development of skills needed to lead major projects as a Resident Engineer in the future.
    Under direct supervision, performs routine duties requiring knowledge of basic engineering principles.
    Performs specific and limited portions of broader assignments.

    Spends a large percentage of time performing estimating take-offs and performing walk-downs for quantity tracking purposes, reporting installed quantities, and performing field inspections to verify adherence to design.

    Qualifications


    REQUIREMENTS
    2+ years of experience working as a Civil Engineer
    Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
    Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Illinois Tollway Experience
    IDOT experience
    IDOT Documentation Certification for Contract Quantities
    Transit and Railway Experience (Optional)

    Comfortable approaching mentor with technical or business-related questions
    Takes ownership of work thru project completion and keeps management properly informed on project issues

    ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS
    Must be well organized and able to prioritize work
    Ability to set and track goals
    Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task and work on more than one project at a time with various priorities
    Able to commit to and meet project deadlines, and driven to provide outstanding service to both external and internal customers
    Must keep a clean and neat work environment
