    Job Summary

    The receptionist is the heart of Bridgerland The purpose of the receptionist is to cheerfully greet guests, students, and staff. Therefore, the applicant should consistently exhibit high standards of professional conduct. They should also provide routine information upon request and refer non-routine inquiries to the appropriate department. The applicant will maintain the college's multi-line telephone system, answering phone calls in a pleasant and informed manner creating a positive image of the college.

    Qualifications

    Candidates applying for the receptionist position must be able to maintain a professional, positive, welcoming, and cheerful atmosphere in the front office. A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred. In addition, a Bridgerland Certificate or at least 1 year of receptionist experience is a bonus. The receptionist needs organizational skills with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy. Computer experience in Microsoft applications and the ability to learn new software is required.

    Essential Duties

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

    • Must be able to establish and maintain professional working relationships with students, the general public, and other employees.
    • Must dress professionally at all times.
    • Answer telephones for the purpose of screening and transferring calls, responding to inquiries, and taking messages.
    • Perform routine miscellaneous clerical tasks, such as filing (document imaging), word processing, and data entry.
    • Ensure that a positive image is promoted within and outside of the college.
    • Organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks.
    • Cheerfully welcome and attend to all visitors, including couriers and deliveries ensuring they are directed to the correct department.
    • Able to honor confidential information.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
