    Job Title: Medical Assistant I/II/III (MA I/II/III)

    Supportive patient care functions are provided in an assigned clinical area under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.
    • Performing various tasks as delegated by the physician or RN.

    Requirements

    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • A graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school is preferred.

    Experience

    • MA I: Entry-level role with no experience required for certification. 1 year of directly related experience as a medical assistant with no Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant is also acceptable.
    • MA II: 5 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant.
    • MA III: 8 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant.

    License(s)

    • BLS certification through American Heart Association is required for MA I, MA II and MA III.

    Special Skills

    • Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population.
    • Computer experience.
    • Basic Medical/Nursing terminology.
