- Provides comprehensive clinical treatment by providing basic health exams, psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and medication management. Diagnose using criteria delineated in the DSM- 5.
- Works with Psychiatric Services Team to ensure the availability of adequate staffing to provide quality psychiatric care throughout the NRVCS system.
- Provides Clinical and Administration Supervision to the Psychiatric Services RNs who perform health assessments and carry out orders of the NP.
- Performs at the expected levels of individual and team productivity. Ensures all client records are in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements including guidelines as they pertain to DBHDS Licensure Regulations, Waiver, State Plan and Clinic Options Medicaid.
- Assists with mentoring nursing or support staff if that supervision does not interfere with the nurse practitioner's ability to complete clinical duties with clients. This additional responsibility will only be incurred if it is mutually agreed upon by the NP and their supervisor.
- Assists with provision of crisis resolution and ensuring that safety needs are met as identified. Refers for and/or provides Crisis Stabilization and/or Crisis Intervention services as needed. Must be accessible by telephone after hours to help manage emergencies if assigned.
- Ensures services are provided with respect to the dignity of the individuals served as outlined in the State and NRVCS Human Rights Plans. Advocates for services on behalf of individuals served and their families/care givers as needed. Documents and reports suspected violations of Human Rights according to NRVCS policies.
- Provides and/or refers individuals and families/care givers for psycho-education in psychiatric services related areas to promote better understanding of mental illnesses, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders.

- Master of Science in Nursing is required.
- Certification as a family or psychiatric nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or American Nurses Credentialing Center, is required.
- Current RN license and current state licensure to practice as a nurse practitioner is required.
- Current state prescriptive licensure required, current DEA number is required.
- Certification in psychiatric nursing with two years' experience is preferred.
