- Conduct fire safety inspections of university buildings for compliance with the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code and related codes.
- Manage routine administrative functions to support fire safety programs, review building plans, and implement fire safety regulations.
- Assist with fire safety concerns in residence halls, fire drills, and support other fire inspectors.
- Respond to requests for assistance, represent EHS at meetings, and coordinate fire extinguisher training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- ICC or Virginia Fire Safety Inspector (1031).
- Experience in Fire Safety Programs or life safety systems.
- General knowledge of fire suppression and alarm systems.
- Ability to enforce code requirements in a professional manner.
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Experience in an institution of higher education.
