    Job Summary
    We are seeking a highly motivated Litigation Paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to our trial team and assist in all phases of the litigation process. You will perform legal research, conduct interviews, file documents, and attend trials. The ideal candidate is hardworking and detail-oriented.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Lead the recruitment of program participants;
    • Onboard participants through the Department's procedures, guidelines, and processes;
    • Assist individuals with the completion of intake forms as needed.
    • Conduct phone / in-person interviews where necessary to determine eligibility for services,
    • identify basic case facts, and identify basic legal problems;
    • Administer conflicts check, initial intake, and complete requisite data entry in case
    • management and grant reporting system.
    • Participate in and provide reports in weekly team meetings.
    • Respond to general calls/walk-ins and email inquiries promptly and professionally.
    • Make referrals as appropriate when not available internally;
    • Providing in-language assistance to the client or potential client.
    • Interpreting for legal staff and translating documents, as needed.
    • Liaise across teams for program alignment;
    • Stay abreast of best and new practices to incorporate into the program
    • Assist with the Interpretation and translation of documents, as needed.
    • All other duties as assigned

    Qualifications
    • Previous experience as a Paralegal or similar role is preferred
    • Certification or Associates Degree as a Paralegal is preferred
    • Familiarity with legal procedures, terminology, and the court system
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Highly organized with document management experience
    • Excellent research skills
    • Comfortable Microsoft Office and case management software
    • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
    • Previous paralegal legal experience (COIL Training, legal nonprofit, law firm, court house, government agency) highly preferred.
    • Critical thinker accustomed to working, problem-solving, and collaborating thoughtfully at all levels, both externally and internally, and across a variety of functions and geographies.
    Employee Benefits
    We offer $3000 ( Paid $250 monthly) in lieu of Benefits.

    Paid Time and Holidays Off

    LORI offers a generous benefits package to full-time employees. Benefits include two weeks of paid vacation and medical leave, a personal day for every two months worked, paid holidays throughout the calendar year (including federal holidays), and a year-end winter break from December 24th to January 1st.
