Job DescriptionThe Mental Health Intake Specialist provides telephone and data collection support for admissions to mental health programs and referral information to in-house and outside resources.
P&BH:
Reports to TEAM LEAD INTAKE PESResponsibilitiesActively participates in staff meetingsAdvises appropriate staff of situations requiring follow-up attentionAnswers all calls and records on computerized forms/databaseAssists lead marketing specialist and marketing director as requiredCommunicates information with physicians and others in a timely mannerCompletes continuing education requirements as mandated by Centra policyDemonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrates flexibility to changing workloadsDemonstrates good judgment in handling difficult situations and responding appropriatelyEstablishes and maintains relationships with providers and referral sourcesFacilitates admissions to acute hospitalization programsIdentifies quality or customer service issues and addresses appropriately and in a timely mannerMaintains a clean and organized workspaceMaintains confidentialityMaintains positive attitude and supports Centra when appropriateMaintains positive relationships with other Centra departments and outside referral sourcesOrganizes time sets priorities and performs well under pressureOther duties that may be assigned from time to timeParticipates in pertinent workshops/training sessionsProvides data and reports/charts when scheduled and upon requestProvides follow-up with physicians and referral sources in a timely mannerProvides information and refers non-admission calls/inquiries to appropriate resourcesRecords accurately all calls and inquiries on computer databasebr>Updates database and generates reports for tracking and marketing purposesVerifies insurance coverage and obtains necessary authorizationsWorks cooperatively with lead specialist director physicians providers and referral sourcesQualifications
Required Education:
Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Sociology, English, Business, Marketing, Communications, Education, or a related field
Required Experience:
Exceptional verbal, written, and telephone communication skills. Computer skills in various software programs designated by department head. Equipment knowledge of computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, and telephones. Prior mental health experience is required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
