    ContinuousUnder the general direction of the Associate Director of Sponsored Programs, the Sponsored Program Administrator will provide professional level support for the California State University, Fullerton faculty and staff.

    Provides post-award administration from the account set up to project director orientation, effort reporting, project budgeting, cost match reporting, sub-recipient monitoring, over-seeing funding expenditures and activities to ensure compliance with sponsor agency terms and conditions, financial reporting, and project close out.

    Essential Duties Provides financial administration and oversight of assigned projects in accordance with institutional policies and processes, funding agency terms and conditions from notice of award to closeout.

    Independently performs such professional duties as reviewing expenditures to ensure they follow OMB 2 CFR 200 cost principles and sponsor regulations, reconcile accounts and process cost transfers, collect and record cost match, prepare and submit financial reports, and resolve problems.

    Provides advice and assistance to faculty and staff with interpretation and clarification of agreement regulations and sponsor guidelines.

    Must have a good working relationship with various campus and Auxiliary departments as well as a good understanding of the reasoning behind the operating procedures of these departments to positively interpret the procedures to the Project Director.

    The position goes beyond the fulfillment of basic regulatory and procedural requirements.

    Emphasis is on giving positive attention to serving the needs of the Project Directors and sponsors while acting in the best interest of the Auxiliary Services.

    Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be able to prioritize work and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to perform the full range of sponsored program oversight with only minimal supervision.

    Qualifications Minimum three (3) years of work experience in a Sponsored Programs Office in a pre-award or post-award capacity at a university, hospital, or research institute.

    Administrator I/II - minimum 3-5 years experienceAdministrator III/IV - minimum 5+ years experienceKnowledge of research administration principles, policies, procedures and understanding relevant aspects of the Office of Management and Budget's Uniform Guidance policies and regulations.

    Demonstrated experience analyzing financial data, analyzing complex situations and deciding appropriate steps for resolution and follow-through.
    Must possess an intermediate level of Excel knowledge and commonly used formulas.
    Must possess a general understanding of basic accounting.
    Ability to communicate clearly (both verbal and written) and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others.
    Ability to function effectively and calmly in difficult situations which require a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Ability to manage multiple, shifting priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
    Ability to learn and adapt to the use of new technology, such as web-based tools.


    EDUCATION:
    Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college, preferably in Business Administration with a concentration in Management or Accounting and/or commensurate work experience


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    Lifting of up to 25lbs.; periodic bending; long-term periods of sitting; long term periods operating a computer.
