    Job DescriptionPrimary Function of PositionThis function supports Intuitive Manufacturing by maintaining, evaluating, implementing, and developing the test system to verify functionality of the robotic surgical systems and its assemblies.

    This position requires the engineer to demonstrate leadership and provide guidance to cross-functional teams regarding test system capabilities, performance, and processes.

    The successful candidate must excel in a high-energy, small focused team environment, be able to recognize and drive continuous improvement projects, and have a commitment to high product quality.

    This position requires a quick learner and demonstrates ability to work in a cross functional environment.

    Essential Job DutiesDevelop and sustain the test systems, gather data and use it to improve test processes to achieve better test coverage, higher yield, higher throughput, reduced variability, and improved measurement accuracy and repeatabilityPerform analyses on functional tests close test gaps and develop debug lists,Use statistical analyses of manufacturing test results to establish appropriate pass/fail criteria and to evaluate test system performanceDrive root cause of failures from system test and functional testsMaintain BOM for test fixtures, spares, hardware, software, and PC configurationsWrite and execute design, equipment and process V&V protocols to ensure FDA, GMP, and ISO compliance of manufacturing tests systemsDevelop test equipment requirements, schematics, V&V protocols, PMC processes, electronic systems, mechanical systems, and manufacturing test processes for ISI products with specific test requirementsTransfer Functional test fixtures to Contract Manufacturers and support them with change implementations, training, maintenance, and debugDrive projects within Test Engineering group and/or with cross-functional teams focused on process and equipment improvements for production at largeQualificationsSkills, Experience, Education, and TrainingCandidate must be of high character and energy with a high regard for detail"Self-starter" attitude and comfort in a hands-on environment, where they can demonstrate an ability to work with other engineers, technicians and contract manufacturersBS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or equivalentMinimum 5-7 years of experience in applications development, embedded system, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, diagnostics softwareExperience basic analog and digital design, mechanical design, software design, and statisticsAptitude/Experience in debug of complex electronic and electro-mechanical assembliesPilot in developing test scripts: Python, C, C++, Java, Matlab, LabWindowsProven knowledge of Windows, Linux Operating systems and VirtualizationExperience with Medical Design Control processesExperience with Bug Tracking toolsExperience with Requirements Management ToolsAbility to interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawingsDedicated troubleshooting mind setAbility to systematically and effectively break down a system or process into subparts to identify failures and troubleshoot to component levelExcellent documentation skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written across all levels of the organizationMindset for Continuous Improvement and the ability to recognize and drive those opportunitiesA real excitement to learn and get to the bottom of problemsPrior experience with Documentation and production control systems: Agile, SAPExperience in test engineering in a medical device company or other regulated businessKnowledge of Measurement Traceability and Gage R&RAdditional Information
