- Lead/Assist with the assessment of the needs, preferences, resources and conditions relating to the victims of domestic violence, as well as for outreach and education on the Rancheria and the service area.
- Ensures quality assurance in overseeing all measurable outcomes and reporting responsibilities to funder and other programs under Social Services.
- Provide direct client services, advocacy, and support to those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking within the established service areas.
- Must uphold the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians confidentiality requirements on and off duty.
- Assist with the strategic planning process as the Tribe adopts and implements a Domestic Violence Prevention Program.
- Assist with the selection of an evidence-based education and outreach program to engage the community and law enforcement as part of an effort to prevent or lessen the impact of domestic and sexual violence.
- Responsible for providing necessary documentation and data for the purpose of statistics, monthly/quarterly/annual reports and monitoring expenditures for budget and program correspondence.
- Responsible for identifying training needs and meeting them to the extent resources allow.
- Support and strengthen relationships with local resources and appropriate agencies in establishing support for the victims of domestic and sexual violence.
- Available for rotated on-call assistance for crisis calls and advocacy, as assigned and based on training.
- Assist in providing education about the dynamics of victim-centered responses to domestic and sexual violence, as well as work with local agencies to understand the culturally specific issues, concerns and responses.
- Will assist and coordinate on-site trainings and consultations, as required.
- Will attend required trainings, local resource meetings that have pertinent information that relate to the program(s), and other meetings as required by the supervisor.
- Will be required to have a background check.
- Other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Report to assigned supervisor(s) according to tribal policies and obtain approval for all external communications as appropriate.
- A bachelor's degreein a relevant field is preferred.
- Education/experience working with victims of domestic or sexual violence or public education programs or projects is preferable.
- Knowledge of the impacts of trauma preferable.
- Experience working with Native American individuals and organizations is preferable.
- Must possess excellent organizational, telephone and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess good oral and written skills-clear, concise, writing preferred.
- Must possess computer skills-required proficiency with Word Perfect, Word, Excel and the Internet; additional computer skills are a strong plus, and experience with wide array of software programs.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license.
- Must be able to do legal research as needed.
- Must be able to respond appropriately in a crisis situation.
- Must be able to travel and work odd hours and on weekends, as needed.
- Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and organized with attention to details.
- Flexibility, energy, good humor, and ability to work under deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently, with community members and collaboratively with other agencies.
- Must complete a Privacy/Confidentiality In-Service.

Description
Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Prevention Program Advocate is to work with department staff to create and implement a domestic violence outreach and education prevention program to serve Native Americans in the identified service area; to provide direct client services, advocacy, and support to individuals impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking; to build relationships with law enforcement and other partner agencies. The Domestic Violence Prevention Program will provide support to the Department's advocacy efforts for victims of domestic and sexual violence within the policies established by the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians. The Advocate must also have the skills to assist in the identification, adoption and implementation of an evidence-based program to engage the community and respond to people who have been affected by domestic or sexual violence in the identified service area.
The Advocate must assist other staff, as well as the Domestic Violence Advocates with the implementation of the goals and objectives and organizational development addressed. The Advocate will answer directly to and be supervised by the Social Services Supervisor and is ultimately responsible to the Social Services Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is subject to suspicion-less (random) drug testing and a background check including fingerprints as a condition of employment. This individual has access to sensitive Tribal member personal data and comes into direct contact with children and seniors. This person operates Tribal vehicles and/or equipment in the course of their employment.

Physical Requirements:
This position is deemed a level 1 and requires walking, standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time; climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching; pushing, pulling and lifting up to 20 pounds; raising objects overhead, manual dexterity for operation of computer, phones and small office machines; hearing, talking and good verbal and written communication skills; repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers

Preference in filling vacancies shall be given first to qualified Tuolumne Me-Wuk Community Council Members and then to enrolled Native Americans of any federally recognized tribe.
