    We are seeking a

    Payroll Specialist

    who

    will

    be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing for an organization. This includes calculating wages, salaries, and deductions, ensuring compliance with tax and labor laws, and maintaining accurate payroll records. The Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring employees are compensated correctly and on time.

    Responsibilities:
    Calculate and process employee salaries, wages, overtime, bonuses, and commissions accurately.
    Verify and input employee time and attendance data.
    Review and process payroll adjustments, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
    Stay informed about federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
    Ensure accurate tax withholding, deductions, and remittances.
    Prepare and submit payroll tax reports and filings, including W-2 and 1099 forms.
    Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
    Verify and reconcile payroll data to ensure consistency and correctness.
    Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
    Ensure deductions and contributions align with employee elections and plan requirements.
    Generate and distribute payroll reports to relevant departments.
    Maintain proper documentation of payroll records, reports, and historical data.
    Prepare and reconcile year-end payroll reports.
    Audit payroll reports for errors and discrepancies.
    Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits.
    Address and correct any issues identified during audits.
    Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and issues.
    Provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures.
    Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and concerns.
    Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency in payroll operations.
    Implement best practices and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends.

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, human resources, or a related field or equivalent experience
    5+ years of experience in payroll processing, with a focus on accuracy and compliance
    Certification in payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional, CPP) is a plus.
    Proficiency in payroll software and systems.
    Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
    Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
    Detail-oriented and highly organized.
    Strong communication and customer service skills.
    Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
