Department: UCHealth Eye Center Anschutz

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $ $41.41 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:

Provides leadership for staff, ensuring adequate resources, equitable distribution of work, problem solving and staff development.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises employee productivity and utilization; schedules clinical staff into individual physician clinics. Evaluates staff performance. Assists with disciplinary situations. Maintains efficient patient flow. Monitors work performed to meet practice standards. Coordinates minor surgical and laser procedures.
  • Administers medications per protocol, assesses effects, and documents care. Ensures patient safety. Coordinates continuing education and training activities. Assists with physician participation in ophthalmic technical education.
  • Provides education and technical demonstrations to students and staff. Assists in orienting and mentoring staff. Assists with quality control and maintenance of equipment and supplies, stocks supplies, and performs minor equipment repairs.
  • Coordinates repairs with engineering. Reports major equipment malfunctions.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider; BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
  • Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT).
  • 1 year of related experience.
