ResponsibilitiesPeraton requires Optimization Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3.
Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad.
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services.
The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
The Optimization Engineer performs Tier 2 and 3 systems support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. Optimization Engineers must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of optimization hardware and software for application and network optimization. The Engineer must have experience in traffic analysis and management, security, communication, and encryption is required.The Engineer must perform testing and analysis of network and application traffic to baseline performance and optimize and shape traffic flow.
The Optimization Engineer is responsible for planning, modeling, design, installation, maintenance, and management of software and appliance solutions to optimize traffic.
The Engineer monitors and controls the performance and status of resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting performance.
The Engineer keeps his or her technical skills updated and studies vendor products to determine those which best meet the Government's needs.
Duties include but are not limited to:Monitoring web portal posting, message traffic, data analytic platforms, and database entries.
Identifying and interpreting trend analysis reports to isolate nonstandard network
Identifying and analyzing anomalies in network traffic using
Identifying applications and network device OS based on network
Reconstructing a malicious attack or activity based on network
Providing services on networks and systems in accordance with the SIE OPORD
Advising the Government regarding required modifications or upgrades, including vendor recommended patches and updates to servers, software, and services.
Verifying installed hardware, software, and
Defining, building, configuring, testing, deploying, verifying, monitoring, revising, archiving, maintaining, updating, patching, and controlling changes to
Engineering enterprise solutions for application and network optimization
Establishing and operating optimization test functions and capabilities
Maintaining secure data transmission of optimized traffic
Working with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of optimizations solutions
Providing high-level support and technical expertise in traffic management and optimization technology
Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission

Qualifications
Required qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years with a BA/BS; 6 years with a MS/MA; 3 years with a PhD. Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
DoD TS clearance or above is required
Eight years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in Server Compute and Storage systems and solutions, including one or more years of specialized experience related to the candidate's assigned task.

Target Salary Range $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
