Pulmonary Lab Technologist - Edgewood

Job Summary:
Schedules conducts calculates and reports cardio-pulmonary tests per PFT lab policy ensures quality repeatability and timelines of cardio-pulmonary tests as well as patient safety submits patient charges for services provided provides support assistance to Pulmonary Rehab as PFT test schedule allows demonstrate respect dignity kindness empathy in each encounter with all patients families visitors employees regardless cultural backgroundResponsibilities:
- Conducts calculates reports variety cardio-pulmonary tests to assess patients pulmonary function reports test results ensure timely interpretation posting final test report uses background knowledge evaluate patient trains patient perform cardio-pulmonary tests correctly obtain accurate test results interacts internal external customers using AIDET methodology upon receipt physicians orders uses clinical skills evaluate physician order schedules patient test within hours ensure timeliness routinely calibrates cardio-pulmonary testing equipment ensure accurate measurement patient tests plans develops implements reports performance improvement activities cardio-pulmonary procedures equipment supplies improve PFT lab quality accuracy timeliness if RRT CRT performs duties registered certified respiratory therapist workload demands meets Professionalism Standards conducts himself herself professional manner assumes responsibility his her professional growth development uses proper communications channels maintains confidentiality customer information protected healthcare information PHI attends staff meetings participates training programs ensures completion annual competencies stays up date Health System information reviewing written electronic communications various sectors System works within member Pulmonary Health Center Team able function independently when necessary performs duties Registered Respiratory Therapist requires
