    Description
    Job Title: Field Services Specialist I

    Location: REMOTE

    Summary:
    • This position will be responsible for the field service of Retail Solutions products, services, and commissioning of new installation, retrofit, and existing sites. Customer visits for installation, programming, start-up, commissioning, training, and troubleshooting of products and services offered by Retail Solutions are required. Field work will be required with extensive overnight travel, as well as rotational on-call responsibilities. The Field Services Specialist I is required to establish, promote, and maintain excellent rapport and communications with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives, and others as appropriate.
    Roles and Responsibilities:
    • Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Maintain proficiency in all products and services that the company offers. This includes installation, programming, and equipment protocol.
    • Maintain proficiency in all designated third-party products and services.
    • Provide on-site termination of low voltage control wires.
    • Provide on-site startup of Solutions products. Ensure equipment is operational and free of defects.
    • Provide impromptu training for onsite contractors and users.
    • Perform equipment programming and commissioning.
    • Provide standard and emergency service. (As assigned to maintain customer site)
    • Complete paperwork such as Service Work Requests, timesheets, expense reports, and Field Service Reports.
    • Provide customer telephone and e-mail technical support.
    • Assist with onsite N-Commissioning TM
    • Review store prints and specifications.
    • Work with contractors to review and ensure store is built to specifications.
    • Assist with onsite E-Commissioning TM
    • Optimize controls and store equipment for energy savings.
    • Compile information for N-Commissioning TM and E-Commissioning TM reports.
    • Build relationships with external customers including General Contractors, Project Managers, members of the Emerson Sales teams, clients, subcontractors, and field resources.
    • Build relationships with internal Retail Solutions colleagues such as Technical Support, Returned Goods/warranty, Accounting, Customer Service, Production, etc. to facilitate successful delivery of projects.
    • Address general administrative needs or answer project related questions for Director, North American Field Services as requested.
    Must Haves:
    • Associates (AA) degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school along with five years related HVAC/R experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database, Internet software, E-mail, Windows 98, 2000, XP, 2010.
    • Certified in the use and handling of refrigerants.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Working Conditions:
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
    • 75% -80% Overnight travel is required.
