Software Development Manager - Machine Learning Acceleration at Neuron ML Apps

AWS Neuron provides a complete software stack for the AWS Inferentia and Trainium cloud-scale machine learning accelerators along with the Trn1 and Inf1 servers. As the Software Development Manager for the ML Applications - Multi-modal team, your main responsibility is to lead a team of engineers in designing and deploying ML applications/use cases on LLMs that leverage various modes of input/output-generation such as Text, Vision, Video, Audio, etc.

You will oversee the full development life cycle for providing inference support for multi-modal models like MM-GPT, CLIP, BLIP2, and will work on developing reliability/scalability features and performance optimizations in the Neuron ML Framework components. Your role will be crucial in making Trainium and Inferentia devices the top choice for ML Acceleration by ensuring support for key ML functionality in a combined chip/software platform.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in optimizing Machine Learning framework components and must have a strong technical ability to work with a vertically integrated system stack composed of hardware, frameworks, and workflows. Deep expertise in optimizing performance for non-text language models using Python/C++ is essential, along with direct customer-facing experience and a strong drive to achieve results.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of direct experience within engineering teams
• 3+ years of designing or architecting new systems
• Experience working with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years leading teams in Machine Learning development
