Summary:
This job involves conducting various laboratory procedures, handling and processing specimens, testing patient samples, reporting results, maintaining equipment, assisting in protocol development, and other related tasks.
Responsibilities:
Requirements:
Education/Skills
Bachelor's Degree or higher in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science from an accredited institution, or equivalent training and experience meeting CLIA regulation 42CFR standards.
OREducation deemed equivalent to a US Bachelor's degree in lab science.
Experience
No experience required for graduates of approved clinical lab training programs.
OROne year of clinical lab experience, including rotations in Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids.
in the last 5 years within a certified lab.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Required Certification: MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHSMaintain current certification with expiration datesLouisiana State Licensure neededNew Graduates must be Board Certified or eligible (completion within 1 year, except Louisiana)
