    POSITION OVERVIEW:


    The Texas Education Agency is seeking a Program and Project Coordinator to perform administration and project management of web-based applications and data automation systems in the Federal Program Compliance Division.

    The work involves highly complex consultative and technical assistance work, providing direction and guidance related to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) for agency staff, Education Service Centers (ESCs) and Local Education Agencies (LEAs).Project coordination work includes compiling data requests, web posting, and the development and maintaining of the Division's online system for data collection.

    Program work involves planning, developing, and implementing ESSA programs.
    This individual works under minimal supervision of the Division Director.

    The Program and Project Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring that selected Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) receive the expedited technical assistance they need to implement effective supplemental education programs for the children they serve.

    The role allows for moderate latitude and the use of initiative and independent judgment, while keeping management fully informed of project status and workload.


    Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Job duties are not limited to the essential functions mentioned below. You may perform other functions as assigned.


    1. Program Compliance Monitoring - Conducts programmatic monitoring of LEAs and/or campus(es) on program implementation requirements within specified timelines.


    2. Training and Resource Production - Develops, maintains, and trains on statutory program implementation requirements and responsible for meeting timelines on development and delivery of program training; development of program requirement documentation; and development of documents for publication to website.


    3. Customer Service - Communicates professionally, effectively and in a timely manner with the ESCs, LEAs and public and consistently exemplifies good customer service on responding to requests, providing training, feedback, planning and organizing, understanding and knowledge of statutory requirements.


    4. Project Coordination - Develops, maintains, and trains on the Division's online system for data collection and responsible for compiling data requests.
    Supports the Division by coordinating the web posting process.

    Qualifications:


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


    Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university


    Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in federal programs management or federal programs implementation at an LEA, ESC, state, or federal agency and in using technology applications to coordinate data management projects.

    • Experience with database administration and internet-based applications
    • Proven experience with program planning, implementation, management, and evaluation processes
    • Experience analyzing federal statutes, rules, regulations, and guidance
    • Self-motivation to read and study to develop solutions while working under minimal supervision
    • Highly organized; ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
    • Committed to a strong customer-service mindset with a focus on engaging both internal and external stakeholders
    • Clear and effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, to a variety of audiences; write clear, accurate, and professional letters, reports, procedures, and presentations
