    Description
    Demand management

    Accountable for required level of understanding of business and user needs.


    Responsible for identifying solution opportunities for business process and business capabilities improvement and capturing the demand for solution development from key stakeholders, leveraging deep knowledge of the solution and their business value.


    Responsible for managing demands backlog in collaboration with the team and relevant business stakeholders including review, analysis, and prioritization of the demands.

    Ensure demands backlog is always up-to-date and visible to the necessary stakeholders.

    Responsible for defining demand acceptance criteria, guiding, and supporting implementation teams on detailed designs, verification, and validation activities.

    Solution concept and design


    Responsible for creating fit-for-purpose solution design from demands and requirements with both functional and non-functional aspects taken into account, in alignment with applicable KONE quality and compliance standards (e.g., cybersecurity and data).

    Own and maintain up-to-date solution concept and description documentation in accordance with applicable architecture guidelines.


    Responsible for aligning own solution with KONE data models and standards, documents data objects and models of own solution on conceptual/logical level.

    Training and communications

    Accountable for overall quality of the solution documentation (concept, description, design specification, training material and instructions).


    Responsible for initiating trainings and communications towards the key stakeholder groups (e.g., Key User network) about best-practice usage, new releases, and changes to the solutions in scope.

    Other considerations


    When Lean & Agile ways of working are adopted, take an active role in the agile practices and ceremonies, at team & solution unit level, such as backlog refinement, quarterly planning, and sprint planning.

    The responsibilities described above are realized by applying agreed and applicable lean and agile principles. Detailed ways of working are defined in the relevant playbooks.


    Seniority levels within the role differ in terms of applicability of responsibilities from the above list, as well as the complexity of solutions in scope.

    (e.g., An entry-level position may have a subset of the above responsibilities for a relatively low complexity solution). In addition, selected responsibilities defined for KONE Role "Solution Owner" may be delegated to senior level Solution Design Owners. Exact details of responsibilities are defined for each position and agreed upon with the line manager.

    Deliverables

    Functional and non-functional design document (for projects and continuous development).


    Data standards, conceptual and logical data models of own solution; data integration diagram and data mapping to KONE level data standards on logical level.

    Demand acceptance criteria.

    Solution training materials.
